Senior Underwriting Consultant - Remote

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Underwriting Consultant to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This remote role focuses on evaluating complex life insurance risks and delivering sound underwriting decisions within delegated authority. The consultant will partner closely with clients and internal teams to balance speed, accuracy, and service while helping shape practical solutions for challenging cases. Success in this role depends on strong analytical judgment, clear communication, and the ability to manage high-volume work in a fast-paced environment. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000 annually Responsibilities Underwrite complex life insurance risks with authority up to $5 million Manage casework efficiently while meeting time and productivity goals Develop creative underwriting solutions in collaboration with clients Establish and nurture strong client relationships to understand their needs Stay current on industry developments and continue building professional expertise Identify and report issues with image systems Collaborate with internal teams to achieve solutions and client satisfaction Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience 8+ years of work experience 4–6 years of reinsurance life underwriting experience or 7–8 years of direct life underwriting experience Proficiency in Word, intermediate SQL/Query, and Excel Strong comprehension and interpretation of insurance documents Excellent oral and written communication skills Advanced investigative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities Benefits Comprehensive health benefits Retirement plan options Eligibility for an annual bonus Long-term equity incentive plan for select roles Flexible work-from-home opportunities Support for professional development and training Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
