Senior Underwriting Analyst
About the Role
This role will report to the Underwriting Manager and will be responsible for the overall underwriting of newly submitted merchant applications. The position is based in Melville, NY.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently manage, sort, and organize merchant applications and supporting documentation
- Accurately enter appropriate statistical and confidential information into multiple systems
- Run background searches
- Conduct analysis based upon business documentation
- Communicate professionally with outside sales agents through email and phone
- Resolve or report problems being encountered to ensure timely completion of merchant applications
- Train new employees as necessary
- Think critically and communicate opportunities for efficiency related to daily job tasks
Requirements
- Previous strong underwriting experience, preferably related to the payments industry or other applicable industries
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with other team members and agents
