Senior Underwriter- Environmental Casualty

About the role

Join the dynamic AXA XL Middle Market Business as a Senior Underwriter, playing a pivotal role in launching our new Environmental Combined Form product. With a well-established environmental team and a burgeoning Middle Market presence, this opportunity enables you to expand AXA XL’s Middle Market product offerings to clients in the US Commercial P&C market. You will be instrumental in the launch of our innovative combined environmental policy product, underwriting opportunities, identifying new business, and collaborating with other middle market underwriters to offer multi-line coverage solutions. Additionally, you will cultivate valuable broker relationships in both Middle Market and Environmental sectors.

This role reports to the Head of Environmental Package Solutions, Middle Market.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and marketing of the environmental combined product.
• Underwrite environmental combined form and excess policies.
• Assist in achieving profitable premium and rate goals, working with actuarial and claims to deliver results consistent with the financial plan.
• Manage multi-line product delivery in coordination with Middle Market teams.
• Develop, maintain, and service broker relationships within the Middle Market distribution model.
• Coordinate with brokers to determine their marketing and education needs supported by AXA XL Middle Market and Environmental.
• Interact directly with insureds, brokers, and producers to service accounts.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment, assisting underwriters, underwriting assistants, and the management team.
• Ensure high-quality service standards and compliance with all internal audit guidelines.
• Act as a company representative at internal/external functions, agent-sponsored, and industry events.
• Meet with brokers to set annual targets, issue monthly status reports, and monitor P&L against plan.
• Take initiative and proactively support broker and market interactions to drive growth.
• Meet with customers and prospects to develop relationships, deliver Middle Market education, and support business targets.

Requirements

• In-depth technical knowledge of Environmental Casualty and Excess liability product offerings.
• Ability to structure combined form policy offerings in conjunction with or in support of a middle market multi-line coverage approach.
• Established broker relationships within Environmental and/or Middle Market areas.
• Extensive environmental casualty insurance experience (e.g., underwriting, claims, or insurance-related business development).
• Experience selling environmental combined form products with supporting product lines including Auto and WC.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain robust insured and broker contacts.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong customer service focus.
• Collaborative team player who provides creative solutions and ideas for resolution.

Pay

The U.S. base salary range for this position is USD 107,600 – 209,100. Actual pay will be determined based on skills, experience, and location.
