Senior Underground Transmission Line Engineer 2 - Grid
Qualifications
This position requires a BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program. Proficiency with CYMCAP modeling, cable tensioning calculations and/or software, and 7 or more years of experience as a member of a project team in observing project schedules and budget constraints on diverse underground transmission projects.
Design experience incorporating code requirements, EPRI recommendations, client requirements, cost estimate development and schedule creation and coordination, cable selection studies, determining bonding scheme, performing ampacity calculations, developing riser structure configuration and structural loading, and developing specifications including cable procurement, duct bank installation, trenchless installation and general construction specifications.
Work and coordinate with vendors and clients to specify transmission line components. Direct a small project team of other engineers, designers and drafters.
Essential Skills And Experience
Experience in underground transmission line design, including routing, duct bank configurations, manhole placement, and electrical principles.
Valued But Not Required Skills And Experience
PE license, experience with High Pressure Gas Filled or High-Pressured Fluid Filled pipe type cable systems and associated equipment, experience with underground distribution or low voltage cable systems, familiarity with design codes and standards, proficiency with MS Office applications, excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, attention to detail, willingness or ability to lead others in using modern tools such as automation and AI to improve workflows, reduce rework, and deliver cost-effective designs.
Pay
$100,019 - $152,807
Schedule
Hybrid work arrangement. Three days a week in the office, two days remote.
