Senior Underground Transmission Line Engineer 2 - Grid
Qualifications
This position requires a BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program. Proficiency with CYMCAP modeling, cable tensioning calculations and/or software, and 7 or more years of experience as a member of a project team in observing project schedules and budget constraints on diverse underground transmission projects. Design experience incorporating code requirements, EPRI recommendations, client requirements, and cost estimate development and schedule creation and coordination. Experience in XLPE cable design, determining bonding scheme, performing ampacity calculations, developing riser structure configuration and structural loading, and developing specifications including cable procurement, duct bank installation, trenchless installation, and general construction specifications. Knowledge to verify/review right of way requirements, bonding schemes, underground transmission line plan and profile drawings and other construction documents. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, drawings, and models. Experience in writing and providing support documentation for engineering calculations. Familiarity with design codes and standards such as NESC, EPRI Green Book, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318. Proficiency with MS Office applications. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Attention to detail.
Essential Skills And Experience
Essential skills and experience include a current PE license or the ability to acquire one within one year, experience with High Pressure Gas Filled or High-Pressure Fluid Filled pipe type cable systems and associated equipment, experience with underground distribution or low voltage cable systems, and familiarity with design codes and standards such as NESC, EPRI Green Book, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318. Valued but not required skills include experience with High Pressure Gas Filled or High-Pressure Fluid Filled pipe type cable systems and associated equipment, experience with underground distribution or low voltage cable systems, and familiarity with design codes and standards such as NESC, EPRI Green Book, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318.
Pay
The total compensation package for eligible positions will include a base salary or an hourly rate and a comprehensive benefits package, reflecting our commitment to rewarding performance and supporting the overall well-being of our employees. Individuals may also be eligible to participate in our yearly discretionary bonus.
Schedule
This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 3 days per week.
