The Role

We’re partnering with a boutique fiduciary firm in Milwaukee that’s growing its estate and trust settlement practice. They need a Senior Trust Officer who can own complex administrations end-to-end—calm execution, sharp document interpretation, and strong judgment—while serving as the steady point person for beneficiaries, attorneys, and internal trust operations.

What You’ll Own

  • Lead the relationship and administration for a portfolio of trust accounts and estate settlement matters
  • Run end-to-end trust administration (account opening, maintenance, and closing) with accuracy and clean documentation
  • Manage estate and trust settlement workflows, including probate coordination and beneficiary communication
  • Interpret trust documents and apply fiduciary principles correctly to decisions, distributions, and administration actions
  • Own annual account reviews, including fee processing, distribution activity, and administration planning
  • Partner with trust accounting/ops to ensure reconciliations, reporting accuracy, and audit-ready files
  • Handle audits, reconciliations, and regulatory inquiries with strong controls and responsiveness
  • Apply working knowledge of estate-related tax considerations as they impact settlement and administration
  • Identify risk early, prevent problems, and manage sensitive situations with discretion and confidence

What They Want to See

  • 7+ years of trust administration experience
  • Strong experience with estate and trust settlement processes
  • Working knowledge of fiduciary principles and trust operations (must-have)
  • Experience administering accounts end-to-end (opening, maintenance, closing)
  • Experience with annual account reviews, fee processing, and distributions
  • Ability to interpret trust documents and apply them accurately
  • Experience handling audits, reconciliations, and regulatory inquiries
  • Familiarity with probate processes and estate workflows
  • Working knowledge of estate-related tax considerations
  • Proficiency in trust accounting and administration systems
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • CTFA preferred

Why This One’s Worth a Look

  • High-trust, high-touch work where your judgment and execution actually matter
  • Strong compensation with real bonus upside (proven history of paying above target)
  • Boutique environment = more ownership, less bureaucracy
  • A stable book of business and meaningful work guiding families through complex settlement situations
