About the role

A boutique fiduciary firm in Palm Beach is seeking a Senior Trust Officer specializing in Special Needs Trusts. The role is high-touch and relationship-driven, ideal for someone who combines technical precision with genuine empathy.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary relationship lead for a portfolio of Special Needs Trusts and complex fiduciary accounts
  • Administer trusts in accordance with governing documents, fiduciary standards, and applicable regulations
  • Guide families and caregivers through distribution decisions with a clear understanding of SSI, Medicaid, and other public benefit considerations
  • Build long-term relationships with beneficiaries, family members, estate planning attorneys, and financial advisors
  • Interpret trust documents and ensure thoughtful, compliant execution of fiduciary responsibilities
  • Partner with internal investment and operations teams to deliver a seamless client experience
  • Anticipate client needs, identify potential risks, and provide proactive guidance in sensitive situations
  • Contribute to the continued growth of a specialized special needs trust practice

Requirements

  • 8+ years of trust administration experience, including meaningful exposure to Special Needs Trusts
  • Strong working knowledge of fiduciary principles, trust operations, and regulatory requirements
  • Deep understanding of public benefits, including SSI and Medicaid, and how they interact with trust structures
  • Exceptional relationship management skills with families navigating complex life circumstances
  • Experience collaborating with attorneys, financial advisors, and other professional partners
  • CTFA preferred; JD or CFP a plus

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • CPFA or CFA preferred

Pay

$130,000 - $155,000 depending on experience
