Dallas, TX | $130,000-$145,000 base + 12% bonus | Hybrid

About the Opportunity

We’re partnering with a growing boutique fiduciary firm that is expanding its Special Needs Trust practice. They’re looking for an experienced Senior Trust Officer who wants more ownership, meaningful client relationships, and the opportunity to help strengthen a specialized practice.

You’ll manage a portfolio of Special Needs Trusts from start to finish while serving as a trusted resource to beneficiaries, families, caregivers, attorneys, and financial advisors. This is not a transactional trust-processing position. Your judgment will directly help protect public benefits, guide important distribution decisions, and provide stability to families navigating complex circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage a portfolio of Special Needs Trusts and other complex fiduciary relationships
• Serve as the primary point of contact for beneficiaries, families, caregivers, attorneys, and advisors
• Review trust documents and ensure accounts are administered according to governing language, fiduciary standards, and regulatory requirements
• Evaluate distribution requests while protecting eligibility for SSI, Medicaid, and other public benefits
• Explain trust decisions clearly and compassionately to families and beneficiaries
• Identify potential compliance, documentation, or fiduciary risks before they become larger issues
• Maintain accurate records and properly document trust decisions
• Coordinate with investment, operations, tax, legal, and administrative teams
• Help improve processes and contribute to the continued growth of the firm’s SNT practice

Requirements

• 8+ years of trust administration experience
• Direct, hands-on experience administering Special Needs Trusts
• Strong knowledge of fiduciary responsibilities, trust operations, and compliance requirements
• Working knowledge of SSI, Medicaid, and public-benefit eligibility rules
• Experience interpreting trust documents and making complex distribution decisions
• Strong communication skills with the ability to guide families through sensitive situations
• Experience partnering with estate planning attorneys, financial advisors, and other professional advisors
• CTFA preferred
• JD or CFP is a plus
