Senior Transportation Project Manager

About the role

The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) is expanding its Transportation Team in Michigan and is seeking a Senior Transportation Project Manager to lead roadway and utility design projects in a fully 3D digital environment. This role offers supervisory responsibilities, mentoring a team of seven designers, and significant opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of roadway design plans and 3D models for local agency projects
• Perform and review design calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Prepare design packages for milestone client submittals, including estimates, special provisions, and RID packages
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team
• Support MDOT projects as needed, applying similar expertise and leadership
• Oversee and manage a team of seven designers, ensuring successful project delivery and professional development

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
• 12-15 years’ experience working with MDOT transportation and Local Agency
• Michigan PE with the ability to become registered in other states
• Knowledge of OpenRoads ORD design software is required. AutoCAD/Civil3D is a plus
• Experience working as a PM
