Senior Transportation Project Engineer
About the role
TERRA Engineering, Ltd. seeks an experienced Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves applying diverse and innovative techniques, managing project proposals, and coordinating with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Participate in project proposals, client interviews, and stakeholder presentations
- Determine project team and staffing requirements
- Contribute to and supervise design concepts, studies, and design options
- Perform complex analyses and design calculations
- Document design procedures and ensure compliance with codes and standards
- Prepare design documents including schematics, design details, calculations, specifications, and utility coordination
- Coordinate project deliverables and permit requirements
- Supervise construction administration activities and resolve issues
- Close out documentation with contractors, clients, and agencies
- Create and enforce TERRA standards and guidelines
- Author marketing materials and develop training programs
- Mentor and train staff members
- Recruit and interview candidates
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (ABET/EAC-accredited program)
- 8+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools
- Effective public speaking and presentation skills
- Understanding of industry practices and construction methodologies
- Valid driver's license for field work
