Senior Transportation Planner (JC-523673)
Job Description and Duties
The Senior Transportation Planner is responsible for developing and implementing the Southern California freight planning program for Districts 7, 8, 11, and 12. This includes identifying goals, strategies and programs, and the analysis of critical mobility, land use, economic, and environmental issues impacting the transportation system and trade. The position is also responsible for regional leadership and coordination, in the implementation of federal and state legislation and policies, and the conduct of key studies of critical national, statewide, interregional, and regional significance.
Working Conditions
The incumbent works in front of a dual-monitor computer system under artificial light in an office setting with long periods of working in a sitting or standing position. The incumbent may be required to travel in state and out-of-state, to meet with customers, districts, and/or attend meetings and conferences.
