Senior Transportation Engineering Manager

Duties And Responsibilities

• Daily responsibilities may include project design, task management, client contact, and quality control.
• Task management and development of roadway construction documents, specifically roadway plans, profiles, typical sections, cross section modeling, maintenance of traffic plans, specifications, cost estimating and planning.
• Preparing reports and studies.
• Preparing for, attending, and participating in public meetings.
• Directing others in performing designs for various roadway infrastructure projects based on AASHTO, SHA and local municipality requirements; reviewing and managing designs prepared by others.
• Participating in project/contract scoping, fee development, contract negotiations, and execution.
• Participate in business development for the preparation of expressions of interest and technical proposals for future work.
• Coordinating with contractors, utility companies and government agencies

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
• 14+ years of experience in roadway design – preferably in Maryland; Additional experience in other ATCS markets is a plus
• Professional Engineer’s license in MD
• MicroStation ORD and ProjectWise experience
• Familiarity with MDOT and regional design standards, practices and policies

Pay

A competitive salary range of $140,000 to $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus, with a target 7.5% of the employee's annualized salary.

About the Role

The individual will perform a variety of engineering tasks related to various SHA, MDTA, and municipal roadway design projects. The diversity of responsibilities requires a flexible mindset and cooperative team-oriented attitude with progressively increasing management capabilities.
