About the role
Under the general direction of the Chief, Office of Safety Innovation and Cooperative Research (Supervising Transportation Engineer), the Senior Transportation Engineer, with the working title of Research Implementation Engineer (RIE), serves as Caltrans' lead expert on implementing innovative transportation related civil engineering research projects. The RIE provides technical leadership to advance high-value research into practice. The RIE develops transportation related civil engineering research implementation guidance; manages the implementation website; oversees implementation teams; and works with project managers to execute implementation plans for Caltrans' sponsored and national research projects.

Requirements
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in transportation research and development
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications
- Knowledge of transportation engineering principles and practices
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with project management tools and techniques

Pay
$137,244.00 - $171,780.00 annually
