Senior Transportation Engineer

About the role

This role is part of an established surface transportation group and works with a broad variety of transportation clients and projects throughout AECOM’s West Region.

Job Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with colleagues throughout AECOM’s West Region on rail/transit infrastructure projects for multiple state, local and federal government
• Serve as technical advisor for team
• Provide specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise
• Develop study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others
• Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
• Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects
• Use expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package
• Prepare technical specification sections
• Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
• Directly manage junior level staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
• 6+ years of experience designing railroads/highways/roadways for transportation projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using InRoads and/or Civil 3D design software packages for the conceptual and detailed design of horizontal and vertical alignments, sections, and 3D modeling on rail and/or highway projects
• Experience with designs and plans production for transportation/civil infrastructure projects including calculations

Sponsorship is not offered for this position now or in the future. Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $100000 to $175000.
