Senior Transportation Designer - Roadway

Job Description

You will play a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of transportation and infrastructure projects that support safe, efficient, and sustainable communities. This position is intended for an experienced roadway technician/designer who brings strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with engineers, designers, and project managers.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of roadway design and production tasks from concept through construction, contributing to projects of varying size and complexity.
• Apply advanced CAD and design skills to develop roadway layouts, alignments, profiles, typical sections, and construction documents, while ensuring compliance with applicable design standards, agency requirements, and project goals.
• Work closely with engineering staff to translate design concepts into clear, accurate, and constructible plans.
• Cook up design elements across disciplines, resolve design challenges, and proactively identify potential issues related to constructability, phasing, and maintenance of traffic.
• Assist with quantity calculations, cost estimates, technical memoranda, and responses to agency comments.
