Senior Transaction Director
CBRE is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Transaction Director to play a critical role in ensuring successful client transitions in the NYC market. This hybrid position offers a blend of in-office and remote work.
About The Role
As the Senior Transaction Director, you will ensure the overall success of new Transaction Management account transitions and special projects supporting strategic accounts or platform initiatives for the Advisory and Transactions business segment. This client-facing role focuses on delivering measurably superior outcomes for clients. You will mobilize new client accounts, ensure all contractual requirements are met, and support the expansion or transformation of existing accounts. Responsibilities include strategic and governance oversight, leadership, facilitating planning sessions, solving problems, assessing risk, implementing mitigation plans, and communicating with key decision-makers. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on complex projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead transaction management account transitions and special projects as the primary point of contact for Account Teams and clients in the U.S.
- Set and drive transition and project objectives and performance indicators; work with account teams or Platform peers/leadership to drive timely completion of milestones.
- Act as the escalation point for Account Teams. Recognize, apply, and capture lessons learned throughout the process.
- Responsible for hand-off to Account Team and assist with stabilization.
- Participate in the pursuit/solution process, showcasing depth of experience and assessing potential roadblocks to transition delivery.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert (SME) for TM delivery and account management. Support new account teams delivering the CBRE-Way and provide guidance/orientation.
- Support the client pursuit process, including solution and transition strategy development and presentations.
- Lead transition planning efforts post-award prior to Kickoff, including team mobilization.
- Support the Account Team to ensure all transition commitments are met and delivered in the agreed timeframe following the CBRE transition process.
- Develop the transition budget, forecast deviations, and provide required reporting.
- Lead the Go Live strategy to ensure successful Day 1. Ensure contract obligations are met and transition deliverables are satisfied using CBRE best practices, tools, playbooks, and processes.
- Manage the project closeout process and operational handoff to account leadership.
- Lead Account Peer Reviews and Account Refreshes. Formulate recommendations and implementation plans to augment delivery and improve client satisfaction.
- Provide transaction director responsibilities for a specific client, including team leadership, implementation of client real estate plans, broker selection, financial management, KPI reporting, and process improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Finance, Real Estate, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Real Estate License.
- Minimum 10 years of transaction management experience. Preferred background includes experience with technology clients, portfolio strategy development, and process improvement.
- Ability to support the transaction management transition of multiple clients.
- International/global work experience preferred.
- Process development expertise, with proven ability to understand current-state, run gap analysis, explore new ideas to increase quality, efficiency, and effectiveness, obtain client and account team buy-in, and lead process improvements. Develop operational or governance playbooks.
- Expert facilitation skills for meetings and workshops, both internally and externally.
- Change Management leadership experience, able to drive improvements partnering with key stakeholder groups across client organizations and CBRE.
- Strong project management, coaching, and consulting skills.
- Proven ability to ensure all scope is accounted for within the transition plan; proactively develop custom components based on client needs and lead the development of new components into the standard plan.
- Ability to predict possible risks and proactively develop mitigation plans with appropriate stakeholders. Lead teams through solutions and enable successful outcomes.
- Proven ability to lead and manage employees, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management, development, and retention, is preferred.
- Previous experience operating in an ambiguous environment and in the absence of a well-defined scope. Able to improvise and create solutions customized for clients.
- Proactive and adaptable approach, thriving in a dynamic environment, readily adjusting to changing priorities.

Pay
The minimum salary for the Senior Transaction Director position is $185,000 annually (or $88.94 per hour) and the maximum salary is $200,000 annually (or $96.16 per hour). The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
