Senior Training Manager - Oncology

About the role

The Senior Training Manager, Oncology, will develop and deliver Oncology/Hematology training for Franchise A, supporting either Imbruvica or Epkinly. Reporting to the Associate Director of Training, this person will collaborate with training peers, global trainers, and co-promote partners to create training on disease, product, sales effectiveness, market knowledge, and operations for the Commercial organization.

Responsibilities

• Maintain subject matter expertise for disease states, products, and therapeutic areas
• Develop and execute training programs and initiatives with minimal guidance
• Design and enhance current curriculum to meet the needs of the Commercial organization
• Coordinate with Marketing, Legal, Compliance, Medical, and Regulatory to ensure accuracy of medical content and compliance with promotional policies for training materials
• Manage vendors during the development of training content and execution of contract requirements
• Perform project management functions during the development of training content
• Lead training meetings, including planning, logistics management, vendor monitoring, and participant conduct
• Partner with Marketing and Sales to develop training that meets brand objectives and coordinate the rollout of training materials for field colleagues
• Influence and lead without authority by collaborating with cross-functional teams within Franchise A (Marketing, Sales, Market Access, etc.) to provide highly effective, timely, innovative, and relevant training solutions
• Collaborate with external partners to deliver best-in-class training
• Align training strategy and tactics with partner company colleagues
• Build trust and credibility with business partners through regular interaction and adherence to AbbVie Ways of Working pillars
• Act as a resource for field sales through active participation in all sales meetings and routine field rides
• Design and lead the execution of training work sessions at National Sales and POA Meetings
• Develop and maintain facilitation skills expertise in support of training content delivery
• Assess the organization’s training needs for both clinical fluency and development competencies and provide feedback for innovation

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree; Master’s Degree preferred
• 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience
• Training, Marketing, or Sales experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry preferred
• Knowledge of Oncology/Hematology disease areas preferred
• Experience developing training tools to enhance clinical acumen is a plus
• Knowledge of adult learning principles, training design concepts, and platforms is a plus
