Senior Training Manager

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess current and future training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals and consultation with superintendents/area managers.
• Develop training matrixes to align organizational design with skill needs and staffing.
• Ensure consistent training methods are used throughout the mill.
• Conduct training as warranted, including technical training within skills and abilities.
• Provide superintendent, assistant superintendent, first‑line supervisor, and “train the trainer” training to ensure training systems are implemented effectively.
• Coordinate verification process to ensure knowledge transfer is effective.
• Own the implementation, administration, and usage of a learning management system for operational training.
• Supervise training coordinators and mentor a “designated trainer” program.
• Provide direction to subject‑matter experts, content writers, and other training resources.
• Own the production onboarding process after the initial onboarding week, including coordination of new‑hire performance evaluations with direct supervisors and supporting the hiring process.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated track record in developing others and designing and executing successful training programs.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to plan, manage projects, time, and budgets effectively.
• Strong writing and record‑keeping ability for reports, training manuals, and other types of media.
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word) and learning management systems (LMS).
