About the role

Weston & Sampson is seeking a Project Engineer with 6 to 12 years of experience in roadway/highway design work. The position offers opportunities to work on a variety of projects including roadway design, intersection improvements, streetscape, multi-use pathways, ADA enhancements, bridge projects, and drainage improvement projects.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out all design tasks of a project including roadway geometry and plans, estimates, technical specifications, and reports while adhering to the project scope, budget, and schedule
  • Direct contact with clients, supporting the Project Manager with response to correspondence and meeting preparation, attendance, and presentations
  • Present at public information meetings and municipal meetings (e.g., inland wetlands)
  • Mentor and assist staff engineers
  • Active involvement with professional organizations such as CSCE, ACEC, ITE, WTS, etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • Master of Science in Civil or Transportation Engineering (plus)
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in MA, NH, CT (or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months)
  • NCEES Record (plus)
  • Proficiency in Autocad Civil 3D or Bentley OpenRoads (required; experience in both is a plus)
  • Experience with HydroCAD or StormCAD (a plus)
  • Established relationships with CTDOT and CT Municipalities (a plus)
  • Experience in the use of the relevant CTDOT Design Manuals and AASHTO Green Book
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and organization and time management skills (required)
  • Valid driver’s license

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in roadway/highway design work
  • Experience with CTDOT Design Manuals and AASHTO Green Book
  • Experience with HydroCAD or StormCAD
  • Experience with CTDOT and CT Municipalities
  • Experience with relevant CTDOT Design Manuals and AASHTO Green Book
  • Experience with Autocad Civil 3D or Bentley OpenRoads
  • Experience with professional organizations such as CSCE, ACEC, ITE, WTS, etc.

Pay

$115,000.00 - $145,000.00 based on experience
