About the role

As the Senior Trade & Industry Events Manager, you will oversee Square's trade show and industry event program across retail and food & beverage sectors. This role sits within the Square Events Team and will own tentpole tradeshow and industry event strategy to generate qualified leads, build seller relationships, and effectively showcase Square's solutions. You'll lead Square's presence at key events such as the National Restaurant Association, Bar & Restaurant Expo, and World of Coffee, among others.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of Square's Tier 1 trade show activations, from booth design and production to on-site logistics and staffing.
  • Partner with the Trade Show Event Manager to develop and execute Square's annual trade show strategy, including event selection, budget management, ROI tracking, and strategic recommendations for future investments.
  • Work with key industry partners to create and negotiate strategic experiential sponsorships that drive brand awareness and consideration.
  • Identify and evaluate new event opportunities to expand Square's presence in key verticals.
  • Partner with sales teams to implement effective lead capture processes and ensure proper follow-up.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with creative, product, sales, and partnership teams to develop compelling experiences and ensure alignment on messaging and product demonstrations.
  • Manage vendor relationships including agencies, warehousing partners, booth fabricators, AV providers, and various event contractors.
  • Create and maintain processes for inventory management, shipping logistics, booth asset maintenance, and documentation of booth specifications and vendor contacts.
  • Travel to key trade shows and industry events (up to 25% travel required).

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in trade show management, event marketing, or experiential marketing.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale trade show programs, including booth design, production, and logistics.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple large-scale events on concurrent timelines.
  • Demonstrated success in generating and tracking qualified leads from trade show activities.
  • Experience managing budgets of $500k-$1M per event.
  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills with existing relationships with event contractors.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate event ROI to leadership.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Background in retail or food & beverage industries preferred.
  • Experience in national field event programs preferred.

Pay

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.

  • Zone A: $163,600 USD - $245,400 USD
  • Zone B: $152,200 USD - $228,200 USD
  • Zone C: $144,000 USD - $216,000 USD
  • Zone D: $135,800 USD - $203,600 USD
