About the Opportunity
The Senior Trade & Industry Events Manager will lead the organization’s trade show and industry event program across the retail and food and beverage sectors. This role is responsible for developing and executing high-impact event strategies that generate qualified leads, strengthen seller relationships, and showcase the organization’s products and solutions. The position oversees large-scale trade show activations from strategy and planning through execution, while partnering with sales, creative, product, and industry partners to deliver compelling event experiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end planning and execution of Tier 1 trade show activations, including booth strategy, design, production, logistics, staffing, and on-site execution.
- Partner with the Trade Show Event Manager to develop event strategies, evaluate event selections, manage budgets, track ROI, and inform future investment decisions.
- Establish and negotiate experiential sponsorships with industry partners to increase brand awareness and strengthen market presence.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities to expand the organization’s presence within priority retail and food and beverage verticals.
- Collaborate with Sales teams to establish effective lead capture, qualification, handoff, and follow-up processes.
- Partner with Creative, Product, Sales, Partnerships, and other cross-functional teams to align event messaging, demonstrations, and experiences with business objectives.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, agencies, warehousing partners, booth fabricators, AV providers, contractors, and other event suppliers.
- Negotiate vendor agreements and manage vendor performance to ensure quality, timelines, and budget expectations are met.
- Create and maintain processes for event inventory, shipping and logistics, booth maintenance, documentation, and operational readiness.
- Track event performance and qualified lead generation to evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Travel to key trade shows and industry events as required, with travel expected up to 25% of the time.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in trade show management, event marketing, experiential marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience managing large-scale trade show programs, including booth design, production, logistics, and on-site execution.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple large-scale events simultaneously.
- Demonstrated success generating, capturing, and tracking qualified leads through trade show and industry event programs.
- Experience managing event budgets in the range of $500,000 to $1 million.
- Strong vendor management, contract negotiation, and stakeholder relationship skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with sales, creative, product, partnership, and other cross-functional teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Preferred: Experience within the retail or food and beverage industries.
- Preferred: Experience managing national field event programs.
Pay
Starting compensation will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and applicable market conditions.
- Zone A: $163,600–$245,400 USD
- Zone B: $152,200–$228,200 USD
- Zone C: $144,000–$216,000 USD
- Zone D: $135,800–$203,600 USD
