About the role

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking an Automation Tester to perform QA and testing work in support of the Managed Care Transition Project. This position is responsible for activities related to a critical in-house system, with a focus on TOSCA automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Assess the testability of requirements and develop test cases based on Business Requirements and Software Design Documents.
• Execute functional, integration, and regression tests.
• Develop SQL queries for testing purposes.
• Script automated test suites using TOSCA.
• Review, analyze, and report test results.
• Utilize Test and Defect Management Tools (HP ALM, JIRA preferred).
• Test web applications and healthcare claims processing systems.
• Collaborate with end users to ensure thorough user acceptance testing.
• Work with business teams to write Business and QA documents.
• Prioritize concurrent deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience with TOSCA Automated Testing Tool (required).
• 2+ years of QA and testing experience on EDI applications (required).
• 5+ years of experience assessing testability of requirements and developing test cases (required).
• 5+ years of experience executing functional, integration, and regression tests (required).
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Test and Defect Management Tools (HP ALM, JIRA highly desired).
• 3+ years of experience reviewing, analyzing, and reporting test results (required).
• 3+ years of experience testing web applications (required).
• 2+ years of experience developing SQL queries (required).
• 1+ years of experience scripting automated test suites (required).
• 2+ years of experience working with business teams to write Business and QA documents (required).
• Knowledge of Agile Methodology.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to both technical and business audiences.
