Senior Tooling Design Engineer

BENEFITS

Role Overview

This is a backfill position supporting an aerospace engineering team responsible for satellite hardware development and manufacturing. The contractor will work closely with mechanical, manufacturing, and design engineering teams to address a backlog of tooling design, fabrication, and production-support activities. Must Haves:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 5–10 years of Mechanical Engineering experience
• 3+ years of CAD design experience involving: Complex systems design, 3D modeling, Engineering drawings, GD&T, Proficiency with Siemens NX (3D Modeling), Teamcenter experience, Tooling design experience in a manufacturing or production environment, Experience collaborating with manufacturing and design/engineering teams, Design review experience, Hands-on fabrication and assembly experience, Structural analysis experience, including: Hand calculations, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Simcenter 3D, Project management experience, including scheduling and budgeting, Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals

Nice To Haves

• Aerospace industry experience
• Experience designing tooling, fixtures, or equipment for aerospace hardware
• Laser tracking experience
• Experience with assembly, alignment, or test fixtures
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and rapid prototyping methods
• Lean, Six Sigma, or other Operational Excellence training/certifications
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills

This is a Contract position based out of Redmond, WA.

PAY AND BENEFITS

• The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $68.00/hr.
