About the role
Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist to join our team in the Cobenfy Territory, covering Hartford, New Britain, West Hartford, Bristol, and Manchester, CT. This role plays a crucial part in our mission to transform patients' lives through science.
Responsibilities
- Promote approved BMS products within the defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
- Engage with HCPs to build and maintain a high level of scientific expertise in assigned products and therapeutic areas.
- Create and implement comprehensive territory and account plans, using tools like CE^3 to derive insights and inform call plans.
- Provide feedback on the use of these tools to leadership to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate scientific expertise and passion in presenting approved scientific resources and publications to HCPs.
- Organize external speaker programs and facilitate scheduling and logistics.
- Maintain a high level of working expertise on emerging data for approved indications.
- Engage in real-time medical support through Medical on Call to answer unsolicited questions and complex technical inquiries.
- Collaborate with other field teams to ensure the best Customer Experience (Cx) for HCPs.
- Gather and share relevant insights and information internally to enable BMS to better serve its customers.
- Comply with all laws, regulations, and policies governing the conduct of BMS.
Requirements
- Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nurse.
- Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to help physicians best serve their patients.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining strong credibility with key customers, office staff, and others in the customer influence network.
- Experience in Neurology preferred.
- Demonstrated strong account management skills and problem-solving mentality.
- Strong selling and promotional skills proven through a track record of performance.
Qualifications

Pay
The starting compensation range for this role is US $139,230 - $168,714 for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available based on eligibility.

This role is field-based, requiring the operation of a Company-provided vehicle. Offers of employment are contingent upon the candidate meeting the requirements of "Qualified Driver," as determined by the Company in its sole discretion.
