As a Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist in the Cardiovascular Community, you will be a critical part of our customer model, driving the adoption of new and existing medicines for appropriate patients. This field-based role focuses on delivering a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx) through deeper scientific dialogue, leveraging new ways of working, and building strong professional credibility with regional thought leaders and community-based healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Promotion
    • Promote approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
    • Create demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use in appropriate patients.
    • Engage with and maintain a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
    • Prepare and implement comprehensive territory and account plans.
    • Proactively use tools like SOPHIA to derive insights and dynamically inform call plans.
    • Provide feedback on tool usage to leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue
    • Demonstrate scientific expertise and passion using approved resources to present accurate information to HCPs.
    • Conduct in-office presentations (e.g., lunch and learns) discussing product-related scientific information consistent with label.
    • Organize external speaker programs, selecting approved speakers and facilitating scheduling and logistics.
    • Maintain expertise on emerging data for approved indications.
    • Engage real-time medical support through Medical on Call to answer unsolicited questions and complex technical inquiries.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration
    • Collaborate with other field teams to ensure the best Customer Experience (Cx) for HCPs.
    • Gather and share relevant insights internally to enable BMS to better serve its customers.
    • Comply with all laws, regulations, and policies governing BMS conduct.

Requirements

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing roles.
  • Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to help physicians best serve their patients.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining strong credibility with key customers and stakeholders through a customer-centric mindset.
  • Experience in cardiovascular preferred.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals with strong account management and selling competencies.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive team mindset.

This position requires operating a Company-provided vehicle. Offers of employment are contingent upon meeting the requirements of a "Qualified Driver," including being at least 21 years of age, holding a driver’s license in good standing, and having an acceptable driving risk level as determined by the Company.

Pay

The starting compensation range for this full-time role is $124,090 - $150,370. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available based on eligibility. Final compensation will be determined by demonstrated experience.

    • Additional time off may include unlimited paid sick time, up to 2 paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, and military needs, and an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas and New Year’s Day.

All global full- and part-time employees actively employed and paid directly by BMS at the end of the calendar year are eligible for the Global Shutdown. Eligibility for other benefits may vary based on job and location.
