Responsibilities
- Work more independently from the group manager and play a key role on project teams.
- Understand key corporate initiatives and work with the manager to motivate others.
- Take a key role in implementing and/or supporting new programs, processes or technologies.
- Execute test plans and test cases for various products and systems.
- Create automated test programs mainly in NI LabVIEW and TestStand, with occasional use of VB.NET, C++, Python, and Lua.
- Analyze test results using statistical analysis tools and use findings to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to understand product requirements.
- Participate in design and code reviews to ensure testability and quality.
- Document test procedures, results, and findings.
- Perform advanced Test Engineering assignments and activities with the ability to demonstrate initiative to improve methods.
Qualifications
- Background in metrology or calibration practices for precision measurement systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in one or more structured programming languages specifically NI LabVIEW (as well as, C/C++, Python, Java, or VB.NET) applied to test or automation.
- Solid understanding of electronic test methodologies, hardware debugging, and automated test systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using data to make decisions and improvements.
- Able to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced production setting.
- Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across design, manufacturing, and operations.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to product and process quality.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks, including NI LabVIEW, NI TestStand, and data acquisition systems.
- Hands-on experience with electronic test and measurement equipment such as DMMs, power supplies, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and source measure units.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN) for managing test software and configurations.
- Data analysis and statistical modeling skills (e.g., SPC, capability analysis, yield analysis) to support continuous improvement.
- Experience with hardware testing, debugging, and troubleshooting using schematics and layout information.
- Experience with test automation in a high-mix or high-volume manufacturing environment.
