About the Role

Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer to lead verification activities across cloud-enabled, distributed mission systems supporting the AF DCGS High Band Mission Applications Software (HBMAS) Sustainment and Development program. The role includes developing test strategies, guiding automated test solutions, validating interfaces, and supporting integration across multidiscipline teams. Work follows modern agile engineering methods and requires strong technical leadership during system integration and troubleshooting. This position is contingent upon contract award and customer funding.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of test plans, procedures, and automated test scripts
  • Perform integration and verification of distributed, cloud-enabled mission applications
  • Evaluate end-to-end data flows, security controls, and acceptance criteria
  • Guide test environment setup, data preparation, and deployment validation
  • Drive defect investigation and coordinate root cause analysis with engineering teams
  • Maintain alignment of test artifacts within controlled technical baselines
  • Participate in interface control working groups
  • Provide input to architecture discussions to ensure testability

Requirements

  • Demonstrated test engineering experience for distributed or cloud-based systems
  • Familiarity with interface and configuration management practices
  • Experience with automated test frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
  • Ability to lead troubleshooting across multidiscipline teams
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI clearance required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Experience with containerized/cloud-native architectures (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Understanding of observability/monitoring tools
  • Experience with mission assurance or cyber-related verification

Pay

The salary range for this role is $86,800 – $165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
