Senior Test Engineer

About the role

Viking Enterprise Solutions (VES) seeks a System Test Engineer to validate cutting-edge data storage and server products in Colorado Springs, CO or San Jose, CA. This role involves collaborating with the Storage/Server Firmware team, developing and executing test plans, and troubleshooting issues related to BIOS/BMC firmware, application software, and operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide feedback on product quality, performance, and conformance to documented requirements
• Develop and execute test scripts to establish pass/fail criteria
• Document test execution results for audit purposes
• Replicate and reproduce reported failures for debug and problem resolution
• Participate in regular team meetings on product reviews
• Lead discussions with third-party vendors for interoperability and problem resolution
• Perform and configure HW, SW, FW, and interop tests
• Drive issues to resolution with cross-functional teams

Requirements

• BS degree in engineering or computer science or related field
• 8+ years minimum experience in a related role
• Excellent working knowledge of various OS (Linux, Windows, Unix)
• Experienced in Server/Storage system architecture
• Proficient in scripting languages and test automation (Python, Linux Bash)
• Experience with BMC, BIOS, and SES firmware testing
• System Hardware/Software integration skills
• Understanding of SES, BMC, BIOS testing requirements
• Good communication skills
• Basic knowledge of software version control (GIT)
• Basic knowledge of issue and project tracking software (Jira, Bugzilla)
• Experience testing and configuring GPUs (preferred)
• Hands-on experience with hardware and software interop testing
• Proven ability to resolve complex system problems and drive corrective action

Benefits

VES offers a competitive salary range of $108,000 - $155,000 annually, with actual base pay determined at the offer stage.
