About the role
We’re looking for a passionate Senior Test Engineer to lead testing efforts and collaborate with talented engineers in a fast-paced Agile environment. This role may be performed in one of the following locations: Gaithersburg, MD; Alexandria, VA; Chantilly, VA; Englewood, CO; St. Louis, MO; or Tucson, AZ.
An Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to successfully pass a Polygraph examination is required.
Responsibilities
- Lead planning, design, development, and execution of comprehensive test strategies.
- Develop and maintain automated and manual test cases for web-based and enterprise applications.
- Partner with software developers, systems engineers, and stakeholders to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and performance testing.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution.
- Support CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated testing into DevSecOps workflows.
- Champion testing best practices across the team.
- Contribute to continuous process improvements that enhance software quality and program success.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required per contract.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field and 8-12 years of prior relevant experience, or a Master’s with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience.
- 8+ years of software testing or quality engineering experience.
- Experience testing enterprise applications throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and CI/CD processes.
- Experience developing automated test solutions.
- Knowledge of functional, integration, regression, system, and performance testing methodologies.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to communicate results and issues to technical and non-technical customer stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress) and scripting languages (JavaScript, Python).
- Familiarity with enterprise applications and large-scale systems.
- Experience with API, UI, database, and performance testing.
- Knowledge of cloud-native applications and containerized environments.
- Certifications such as ISTQB, CASTP, CAST, CSTE, Security+, or similar.
Pay
Pay Range: $107,900.00 - $195,050.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
