About the role
The iRhythm Systems Quality Assurance Team is seeking a Senior Test Automation (SDET) Team Lead to drive quality execution across complex software releases supporting iRhythm's cardiac monitoring platform.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end test planning for software releases across multiple backend and platform services teams
- Define release-level test scope, strategy, timelines
- Drive alignment on dependencies, priorities, environments, and release milestones
- Identify quality risks early and drive mitigation plans
- Escalate release blockers and quality concerns to stakeholders
- Lead effective verification strategies across manual and automated testing efforts, including API and integration testing for backend platform services
- Champion initiatives that reduce manual testing effort and improve efficiency
- Organize and report on testing efforts using tools like Jira and Jama
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to share results and align efforts
- Contribute to processes that support the medical device development lifecycle
- Ensure testing activities and documentation align with processes supporting the medical device software development lifecycle and regulatory compliance expectations
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in test automation and software testing, with strong expertise in validating complex software systems and releases
- Proficiency with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, TestNG)
- Fluency in object-oriented programming languages, especially Java or C#
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
- Proven experience leading testing efforts for large-scale software releases or cross-functional development programs
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate testing activities across multiple teams, manage competing priorities, and drive execution to meet release timelines
- Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clearly communicate quality status, risks, and priorities
- Passion for building scalable quality processes, improving team effectiveness, and driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Experience in the medical device space is a plus
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with significant relevant experience
Skills
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Knowledge of medical device regulations and standards (e.g., FDA, CE Mark)
- Experience with data analysis and interpretation
- Experience with medical device testing and validation
