Senior Test Automation Engineer with Playwright experience
About The Role
As a Senior Test Automation Engineer with Playwright, you will make an impact by driving quality engineering initiatives through scalable test automation solutions, robust API testing, and end-to-end quality assurance practices. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with developers, product owners, business analysts, DevOps engineers, and global delivery teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Playwright and other automation technologies.
- Develop and execute automated API, UI, regression, integration, and end-to-end test suites to ensure application quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and other DevOps platforms.
- Perform backend validation and data integrity testing using SQL while supporting defect triage, test reporting, quality metrics, and release validation activities.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance with strong expertise in test planning, test design, defect management, risk assessment, and end-to-end validation.
- Hands-on test automation experience, including experience with Playwright.
- Experience with additional automation frameworks and tools beyond Playwright.
- Strong experience in API testing and automation using tools and frameworks such as Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in SQL with the ability to create complex queries, perform backend testing, validate data integrity, and analyze test results.
- Experience working within Agile development teams using BDD methodologies and tools such as Cucumber.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools including GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and related DevOps practices.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
- Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-scale automation frameworks.
- Strong understanding of functional, integration, regression, API, UI, and end-to-end testing approaches.
- Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a distributed onsite-offshore delivery model.

Benefits
- Annual salary range: $53,477 to $92,500, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
- Eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.

Pay
The annual salary for this position is between $53,477 to 92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
