Senior Test Automation Engineer (Playwright & AI)

Hybrid schedule out of Charlotte, NC office (3 days/week onsite).

About the role

Join an innovative quality engineering team tasked with building next-generation test automation solutions. In this role, you will design, architect, and scale automation frameworks while leveraging advanced AI tools to accelerate testing processes.

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain enterprise-level test automation suites using Playwright and TypeScript.
• Utilize AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, OpenAI Codex) to streamline test creation, debugging, and data generation.
• Develop automated API tests for RESTful and GraphQL web services.
• Maintain legacy Cypress frameworks and facilitate smooth migrations to Playwright.
• Partner with development teams to integrate test automation into continuous delivery pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical experience in software test automation.
• Strong expertise with Playwright, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript environments.
• Hands-on experience applying AI assistants within your daily engineering workflow.
• Deep understanding of API automation, contract testing, and request chaining.
• Ability to work onsite in Charlotte, NC 3 days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Cypress component and integration testing.
• Proven track record architecting test automation frameworks from scratch.
• Strong background in CI/CD pipeline setup and execution reporting.
