About the Role

Our client is seeking Senior Test Automation Engineers to support a large-scale enterprise application modernization initiative. These individuals will provide hands-on quality assurance expertise across automated testing, API testing, database validation, performance testing, and test framework development. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience building and maintaining automation frameworks and will be comfortable working directly with development and project teams in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for enterprise applications.
  • Develop and maintain scalable test automation frameworks.
  • Maximize automated test coverage for critical application functionality.
  • Develop test scenarios, test cases, execution plans, and comprehensive test strategies.
  • Perform functional, API, database, performance, and other forms of automated testing.
  • Expand and improve existing automation frameworks and testing processes.
  • Integrate database validation into automated testing workflows.
  • Identify, document, troubleshoot, and track software defects.
  • Analyze test failures and collaborate with developers to identify root causes.
  • Review and improve the quality, maintainability, and reliability of automated test code.
  • Support performance testing and help develop strategies for evaluating application performance.
  • Manage test environments and help ensure their stability and reliability.
  • Produce test results, metrics, and reports for technical and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, project managers, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other QA professionals.
  • Participate in Agile development processes and provide rapid feedback on new functionality.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on software quality assurance experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on test automation experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test planning, and execution strategies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Proven experience designing and implementing scalable test automation frameworks.
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience with Selenium and JMeter.
  • Strong programming/scripting experience with Java, Python, or similar languages.
  • Hands-on API testing experience using tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
  • Strong SQL skills, including complex queries involving joins, subqueries, and grouping.
  • Experience performing database validation and working with test data.
  • Understanding of relational database concepts including keys, constraints, and indexes.
  • Experience diagnosing database-related test failures.
  • Experience integrating database validation into automated test frameworks.
  • Experience managing test artifacts using tools such as Zephyr or similar platforms.
  • Experience developing comprehensive test strategies and test plans.
  • Strong understanding of QA best practices and automation methodologies.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate with QA professionals and cross-functional technical teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years of software quality assurance experience.
  • 8+ years of test automation experience.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with additional automation languages such as TypeScript.
  • Experience with mocking frameworks such as Mockito or JMockit.
  • Experience identifying and mitigating quality and testing risks.
  • Experience improving QA processes, tools, and automation practices.
  • Experience communicating testing results and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience developing long-term QA and automation strategies.
  • Knowledge of software testing compliance and industry standards.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Senior QA Automation Engineer, not simply a QA Manager or manual tester. They should be able to write and troubleshoot automation code, build and enhance testing frameworks, perform API and database testing, and work closely with developers throughout the SDLC.
