Senior Territory Production Underwriter - Middle Market Construction Insurance

This is a remote/work-from-home (WFH) production underwriting role that includes travel to key agency relationships within the assigned territory. Territory is to be determined but likely a combination of California and/or the Pacific Northwest. Preferably, this individual will be based in or close to their respective territory, with the most ideal areas including Los Angeles, Sacramento, Seattle, Portland, and/or Boise.

As a Senior Territory Manager, you'll work primarily with middle market accounts, with an emphasis in commercial lines construction services, representing some of our most complex and sophisticated distribution partners. You'll market, manage, and underwrite business through direct contact with select agencies or brokers. We'll count on you to drive profit and premium to meet top financial goals and objectives. To succeed, it will be important to collaborate with internal business partners to support and increase the overall Nationwide presence.
Requirements
- Commercial insurance underwriting experience (with authority) and a profitability & production-oriented lens along with agency management
- Strong preference for commercial middle market expertise
- Construction-specific insurance industry experience is ideal
- Existing relationships with agency partner firms is highly desirable
- This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the Stem OPT Extension program.
Pay
The national salary range for Sr Territory Manager, Construction Services Business Development - Commercial Lines is $128,000.00 - $227,000.00. The expected starting salary range is $128,000.00 - $192,000.00. Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure, and placement within the actual starting salary range will be determined by skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity, and location of the role; as well as the cost of labor in the market and other conditions of employment. If a sales job, sales incentives based on performance goals are possible in addition to this range.
