Senior Teller
About the Role
We are seeking a full-time Senior Teller to join our Blackstone Branch team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in delivering exceptional customer service, enjoys learning new things, and wants to work in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same. As part of our team, you will help make a difference in the community while overseeing teller operations and mentoring less experienced tellers.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the teller line to ensure excellent customer service and operational efficiency, including scheduling lunches and breaks, assisting tellers in servicing customers, verifying transactions, performing supervisory overrides, signing checks, and explaining procedures.
- Perform all regular teller duties accurately and exceptionally.
- Create a welcoming customer experience by greeting customers, using their names, and building rapport to generate customer loyalty.
- Take a leadership role in the branch sales environment, proactively identifying customer referral opportunities.
- Oversee the opening of all teller stations, providing location assignments, computer support, and cash as needed.
- Function as the vault teller, monitoring cash levels, and recommending cash orders.
- Intervene with customer concerns on the teller line, actively listening to teller-customer interactions and escalating to management as needed.
- Balance the branch, ensuring all tellers are in proof and closing procedures are followed.
- Resolve routine customer concerns and refer complex issues to a supervisor as appropriate.
- Demonstrate basic product knowledge to handle customer inquiries.
- Participate in community and networking events.
- Serve as an on-the-job training mentor for new tellers when asked.
- Assist in performing security procedures and ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and corporate policies, including BSA reporting, CRA, and Regulation CC.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High-school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
- Good verbal, math, and customer service skills, with clerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to handle challenging customer situations with poise and tact.
- Cash handling and customer service experience required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Willingness to direct and mentor others.
- Experience in ATM proving, head cash, and branch activities required.

Pay
The estimated base hourly rate for this position is $21.00/hr to $25.00/hr. The final offer will be determined based on skills, education, experience, certifications, and internal equity considerations.
