About the Team

VIZIO is a pioneer in software and OS development for our Smart TVs. We are actively looking for a Technical Program Manager who is smart, pays attention to detail, and excels in critical thinking to manage the delivery of the software development process and define our roadmap.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance existing operations and platform projects as a proactive and forward-thinking senior-level technical project manager.
  • Manage implementation efforts of our operations platforms, monitoring and leading engineering teams to ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Lead engineering teams to deliver products and solutions for sophisticated embedded systems.
  • Provide outstanding leadership to the program team to deliver projects/programs on time, with high quality, and excellent results.
  • Perform overall program-level planning and lead program execution of interdependent projects, driving effective and accurate status reporting.
  • Identify risks and issues, and develop risk mitigation strategies and associated processes.
  • Identify critical partners and required engagement models, handling effective decision-making with leadership and engineering teams.
  • Supervise the overall roadmap, identify and report potential obstacles such as scope creep, resource and personnel shortfalls, and problems with schedule and release delays.
  • Communicate with software engineers, product managers, and development teams.
  • Conduct data analysis to deliver insights for Engineering Managers.
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication and presentation skills to engineers, managers, and executives.
  • Proactively identify, prioritize, and drive resolution to program issues.
  • Help the team with ongoing improvements to the program management processes.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Marketing teams.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of demonstrated ability in both engineering development and project/program management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems, or a similar field.
  • Ability to drive multi-functional efforts across major technical fields: SW, HW, Product, and QA.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and self-starter skills.
  • Solid knowledge of software engineering standard methodologies and related dependencies.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire team members.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
  • Solid understanding of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and Kanban development methodologies.
  • Good understanding of OS systems, media, and system architecture.
  • Sound understanding of UX and UI development.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with many different personality types.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment.
  • Excellent planning, time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and capacity planning, as well as solid experience with JIRA & Confluence.
  • Solid experience and comfort partnering with engineering teams throughout feature development from architecture, design, implementation, and validation.
  • Own roadmap, priorities, prioritization, and timelines for technologies.
  • Solid understanding of code repositories (GitHub/BitBucket) and build processes.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock for certain positions.

Schedule

Full-time, on-site role at our Dallas, TX office.
