Senior Technology Engineer
About the role
The Senior Technology Engineer will lead projects as a project manager or the lead engineer for the delivery of large and highly complex projects. They will work closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead design efforts for the analysis of IT structured cabling, audio/video, security, and other low-voltage building systems.
- Utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
- Perform site assessments and generate detailed analysis and technical reports.
- Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively.
- Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication.
- Provide in-process design reviews of IT structured cabling, audio/video, security, and other low-voltage building systems design, calculations, and specifications.
- Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirements.
- Provide technical training and mentoring.
- Provide technical assistance in resolution of field issues with minimal support from senior staff.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in low-voltage technology (ICT) engineering.
- Lead research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.
- Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work.
- Identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with low-voltage technology ICT systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.
- Lead project interviews and project presentations.
Requirements
- Mastery of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications.
- Mastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles relating to electrical voltage and current, digital and analog signals, basic IT networking topologies and protocols, as it relates to electrical low-voltage systems design for buildings.
- Strong training, mentoring and leadership skills.
- Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise.
- Ability to sell work and develop client relationships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Eagerness to adapt to new challenges.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.
- Proficiency in the use of BIM software.
- Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull.
- Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer or related Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, related STEM field, or equivalent, required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
- 14 years of experience minimum required, 16 preferred, in the building design consulting industry.

Schedule
Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds.
Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull.
Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises.
Occasional overnight stays may be required.
