About the role

You will maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
  • Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair work orders, document repair activities, and support stores and store associates.
  • Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
  • Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
  • Develop and adhere to preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Train store associates on equipment care and cleaning to reduce misuse and damage.
  • Manage work orders and maintenance logs accurately and timely.
  • Ensure safety and proper functionality of all serviced equipment, limiting the risk of cross-contamination in food production areas.

Equipment Serviced

  • Food Equipment: Combi ovens, deli slicers, auto meat cutters, fryers, hot cases, ice makers, pizza ovens, rotisserie ovens, thermoglazers, donut cases, four bowl warmers, bakery ovens, bread slicers, tortilla makers.
  • Grease and Oil Systems: Oil/water separators, used cooking oil tanks.

Skills

  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing commercial food equipment.
  • Ability to develop and adhere to maintenance schedules (Preventative Maintenance).
  • Capability to train store associates on equipment care and cleaning.
  • Competence in managing work orders and maintenance logs.
  • Clear, transparent, and respectful communication (Customer Service).
  • Adaptability to handle changing and competing demands.
  • Strong collaborative skills and belief in Servant Leadership (Teamwork).

Requirements

  • 18 years or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
  • Vocational or Technical certification and 5 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade, or 7 years' experience in one of these trades.
  • 1 year's experience using intermediate-level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Comfortable moving up and down ladders frequently and working at heights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
  • Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $40.00 - $76.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances, based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
