About the role
Zantech is looking for a talented Senior Technical Writer/Editor to contribute to the success of our upcoming Program Management and Cyber Support Services project for an Onsite role based out of Arlington, VA.
Responsibilities
- Oversee efforts to professionalize external communications through high-quality technical and operational publications
- Ensure all publications adhere to established DHS style guidelines
- Ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards for all government publications
- Maintain consistency across different publication platforms and products
- Draft, edit, and publish cybersecurity alerts, technical advisories, reports, and analysis documents
- Translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and understandable content for various audiences
- Work closely with CISA's internal teams including threat analysts and incident response coordinators
- Coverage with interagency, private sector, and international partners to gather necessary technical information
- Oversee end-to-end publication process ensuring materials are reviewed, approved, and disseminated promptly
- Coverage input from subject matter experts and fact-check content
- Maintain repository of published content ensuring materials are easily accessible and organized
- Serve as publisher of CISA products posted on CISA.gov website
- Support engagement with publication partners and help coordinate development of joint-sealed products
- Collect and manage stakeholder feedback and develop content, messaging, and strategies to enhance communications
Requirements
- Experience producing cybersecurity alerts, advisories, or technical documentation
- Experience with Section 508 accessibility compliance
- Experience coordinating with subject matter experts to gather and translate technical information
- Proficiency with DHS style guidelines
- Understanding of Section 508 accessibility requirements for government publications
- Knowledge of DHS MD 4010.2 Pub regarding accessibility
- Ability to translate complex cybersecurity technical information for various audiences
- Strong editing and proofreading skills with attention to detail
- Understanding of cybersecurity terminology, threats, and defensive measures
- Experience with content management systems and CISA.gov website publishing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications
- Education Required: None specified
- Education Preferred: Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, Cybersecurity, or related field
- Certifications Required: None specified
- Certifications Preferred: Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC), DHS Trusted Tester Certification (Section 508 compliance), Information Assurance or Cybersecurity certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP)
