Your Impact

Acre is seeking an experienced security industry training professional to lead hands-on customer education from our Austin headquarters. This role combines expert classroom facilitation, deep physical security and access control expertise, product mastery, and curriculum development. The successful candidate will become a subject matter expert across Acre's flagship access control, video, visitor management, and intrusion solutions, delivering a consistent, engaging, and technically credible learning experience for customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.

Working closely with content development stakeholders, this individual will play a key role in developing instructor-led courses, certification programs, and hands-on interactive laboratory environments that support both existing products and upcoming platform launches. This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who can independently manage complex training initiatives, coach and mentor others, identify learning and product knowledge gaps, and translate technical concepts into practical, field-ready skills. The position is based onsite in Austin, Texas, and is expected to support customer and partner training delivery, laboratory readiness, demonstrations, and curriculum development up to five days per week. Success in this role requires balancing classroom instruction with the ongoing development and enhancement of training content, certification pathways, and launch readiness programs for new solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver instructor-led technical training for customers, partners, and internal teams, from the Austin, TX, headquarters training facility
  • Facilitate up to five days of onsite customer and partner training per week when classes are scheduled, delivering engaging instruction through a combination of classroom presentation, hands-on laboratory exercises, guided product configuration, real-world troubleshooting scenarios, demonstrations, and learner assessments
  • Create an inclusive and professional classroom environment for adult learners with varied technical backgrounds while maintaining course standards and pace
  • Participate in release readiness, course reviews, train-the-trainer activities, pilots, and launch checkpoints for customer training
  • Co-develop curriculum with content specialists and subject matter experts, contributing the instructor and field perspective to learning objectives, lesson plans, demonstrations, practical labs, assessments, instructor guides, student workbooks, and certification criteria
  • Build and maintain classroom delivery plans, timing guides, setup instructions, lab reset procedures, equipment lists, and contingency plans
  • Support the conversion and reuse of instructor-led content across virtual, blended, and self-paced learning when appropriate
  • Coach and upskill virtual instructors, provide constructive feedback, and help establish consistent facilitation and technical quality standards
  • Define and monitor practical measures such as learner completion, certification outcomes, satisfaction, confidence, course quality, and demonstrated skill application

What You'll Bring

  • Must have professional training or technical instruction experience in the physical access control industry. Candidates without direct access control industry training experience will not meet the minimum requirement
  • Five or more years of relevant experience spanning technical training, access control implementation, field engineering, technical support, professional services, systems integration, or a closely related discipline, including meaningful responsibility for instructor-led training
  • Demonstrated knowledge of commercial electronic access control concepts, including controllers and panels, readers, credentials, card formats, inputs and outputs, locking hardware, door operation, network connectivity, system architecture, commissioning, and troubleshooting
  • Proven ability to teach adult learners through hands-on labs, software demonstrations, guided practice, scenario-based exercises, and formal assessments
  • Experience creating or materially improving technical courseware, lesson plans, instructor guides, lab exercises, assessments, or certification programs
  • Ability to explain complex hardware, software, networking, and workflow concepts in clear customer language without sacrificing technical accuracy
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, organization, written communication, and customer relationship skills
  • Ability to learn new products quickly, work independently, manage difficult or complex problems, and balance recurring delivery with launch curriculum responsibilities
  • Ability to work primarily onsite in Austin, Texas, up to five days per week

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with enterprise, cloud-based, and on-premises physical access control systems and with Mercury-based or comparable controller architectures
  • Working knowledge of OSDP, Wiegand, mobile and smart credentials, identity integrations, basic IP networking, databases, APIs, single sign-on, and access control integrations with video or intrusion systems
  • Experience training systems integrators, installers, administrators, operators, technical support professionals, or channel partners
  • Experience with certification design, practical skills validation, learning management systems, virtual classroom tools, and course evaluation analytics
  • Industry certifications from recognized physical security, access control, networking, instructional design, or adult learning organizations
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, engineering, education, instructional design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
