About the Role

EnerSys Advanced Systems (EAS), a specialized division of EnerSys—a global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications—focuses on cutting-edge energy solutions for the aerospace, defense, and medical industries. This role involves planning, coordinating, and supporting activities related to installing batteries and associated equipment, investigating and resolving customer technical issues, and preventing future operational or service difficulties. The position includes applications engineering for all Land, Sea, and Air products and chemistries.

Certain positions at EnerSys Advanced Systems require access to information or technology subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and other U.S. government security regulations. Candidates must be a “U.S. Person” under ITAR (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or a refugee/asylee) and/or otherwise comply with ITAR requirements for access rights.

Responsibilities

  • Follows all company policies and procedures, including warranty, safety, environmental, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, ISO9000, and AS9100.
  • Occasionally travels to customer sites to inspect, evaluate, diagnose, and repair EnerSys batteries and associated equipment.
  • Provides technical assistance to EnerSys customers during storage, battery installations, and maintenance.
  • Coordinates with EnerSys laboratories for the removal, disassembly, and analysis of batteries to detect defects and/or better understand performance.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots battery monitoring equipment and other associated vehicle (aircraft, land vehicle, submarine, robotic) electronic equipment related to EnerSys batteries.
  • Provides technical support to end users, including product selection, training on proper use and maintenance, and resolving application issues. Provides feedback to Product Engineering for continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Assists Sales, Service, and Engineering teams on special projects, such as customer visits, supplier visits, conference and trade show support, literature review, and custom order reviews.
  • Maintains a safe, orderly, and clean working environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience and/or training.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline preferred; equivalent education plus industry or military experience considered.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret business, technical, and regulatory documents.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including reports and presentations.
  • Proficient in mathematical calculations (percentages, proportions, geometry, algebra).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, email, internet tools, and ability to learn EnerSys systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Confidential security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel overnight up to 25% for training, meetings, and customer support.
