Senior Technical Sales Representative

This position will report to our EnerSys Energy Systems business, which serves the telecom, cable broadband, industrial, renewable, and data center markets. Our portfolio combines stored energy expertise with power systems, enclosures, and renewable energy products to deliver world-class solutions for diverse applications such as 5G, broadband, Internet of Things (IoT), data center, and solar power. Our cutting-edge technology includes Lithium batteries, Fault Managed Power Systems, and Extended Run Time battery backup systems that improve the reliability and resiliency of broadband networks. EnerSys has over thirty manufacturing and assembly plants worldwide servicing over 10,000 customers in more than 100 countries. About the role
Develop, implement, and realize the sales/account plan for the assigned account/portfolio, acquire and retain accounts, and build and strengthen relations in order to realize commercial objectives.
Responsibilities
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment when dealing with critical matters within the organization.
- Generate new business and maintain existing accounts.
- Attain or exceed assigned sales and profit targets by effectively managing resources and sales channels.
- Manage sales and mining sales territories.
- Act as a liaison between customer service, marketing, credit, and legal for customer and channel requirements.
- Increase sales and market share through the use of various channels.
- Prepare forecasts, presentations, quotes, and orders, and manage customer programs.
- Generate sales of batteries, chargers, and service within the sales and mining sales areas.
- Follow all company procedures and compliance policies.
- Visit customer sites and mining sites as required.
- Document account activity, maintain business records, and complete sales and marketing reports.
- Travel to customer, vendor, and service center locations.
- Develop, present, or respond to proposals for specific customer requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of sales experience; or 7 years of sales experience without a degree.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications and company intranet systems.
- Ability to read and comprehend manuals, procedures, and other written materials in English.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and mining locations as needed.
- Must be able and willing to do overnight travel.
- Must be able and willing to work overtime.
- This position requires you to drive a company vehicle; you must be able to pass the company’s driving requirements. Certain vehicles may also require a specific driver's license and have additional driving requirements.
- This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyone's safety.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds/11.5 kilos on occasion.
- Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.
Preferred Qualifications
- College degree and relevant industry experience preferred.
