Senior Technical Regulatory Compliance Engineering Specialist

As a Technical Regulatory Compliance Engineering Specialist, you will serve as a principal contributor on a design or CPPD team, responsible for the development of safety and compliance-related aspects of products and processes. This role involves contributing to enterprise regulatory compliance teams, developing solutions for complex technical engineering problems, and improving complex systems or processes.
Responsibilities
- Understand, interpret, and participate in the development of various international standards.
- Engage in advocacy efforts on regulatory policies.
- Conduct training for internal product system or component teams.
- Facilitate control system safety assessments and product safety risk assessments.
- Participate in design reviews and consult with engineering design teams.
- Audit hardware and software assessments.
- Participate in projects to improve the efficiency of the work group.
- Provide Control System Functional Safety and Machinery Product Safety Risk Assessment support.
- Contribute to enterprise regulatory compliance and safety teams, including external committees or groups.
- Demonstrate the ability to develop and perform on complex projects or programs.
- Work directly with other units, suppliers, customers, and teams, requiring negotiation, consensus-building, and compromise.
- Keep up to date with regulatory compliance requirements and technology, developing increased technical breadth and/or depth.

- Collaborates with stakeholders to align design with functional and safety requirements.
- Evaluates production alternatives and contributes to continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Agricultural, or Controls Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university.
- Strong understanding of embedded control systems derived from engineering development or validation experience with mobile machines.
- Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and experience with earth-moving machinery risk assessments (e.g., Bowtie, LOPA, MCSSA).
- Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams.
- Experience with machinery functional safety standards such as ISO 19014 or ISO 13849 (experience with other standards like ISO 25119 or ISO 26262 is also valuable).
- Effective communication, spatial and conceptual design skills, and an understanding of customers’ needs and product application.
- Experience with international standards development organizations.
- Control system experience with technologies such as electrification, autonomy, SOTIF, or artificial intelligence/AI.
- Ability to understand complex technical problems and develop creative solutions within a requirements framework.
- Technical leadership skills are essential; project management skills may also be required.
- Strong analytical and technical skills, with a deep understanding of complex engineering concepts and applications.
- Proven ability to communicate technical information effectively across teams, customers, and suppliers.
- Control System Functional Safety Certification from an accredited agency or willingness to obtain this certification during the assignment.
Pay
Pay Range: $147,760.00 - $221,640.00. Compensation and benefits may vary depending on job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience.

Schedule
- This role is onsite 5 days per week.
- Up to 25% travel may be required.
