Senior Regulatory Compliance Engineer
About the role
The Senior Regulatory Compliance Engineer will support global regulatory approval strategies, manage compliance across various standards, and represent Arlo on regulatory topics. This role requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field, experience in consumer electronics regulatory compliance, and strong communication and program management skills.
Responsibilities
- Support global regulatory approval strategies for new and sustaining products
- Identify and mitigate risks early in the process
- Manage compliance across EMC, Product Safety, Wireless/RF, and International Approvals
- Develop certification plans, schedules, and budgets aligned with product milestones
- Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic accounts
- Identify applicable regulatory, radio, safety, and EMC standards in partnership with engineering, suppliers, and test labs
- Manage homologation projects across all sales regions for timely, cost-effective approvals
- Develop and execute product test plans and manage international regulatory approvals end-to-end
- Own and maintain all regulatory compliance documentation, ensuring records are accurate and audit ready
- Apply knowledge of configuration management practices (BOMs, ECR/ECO/MCO) to maintain compliance records
- Support the ESG Committee by contributing compliance data to Arlo's CSR/ESG disclosures
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related technical field
- Experience in consumer electronics regulatory compliance (e.g., security cameras, lighting, battery, power adapters, solar panels)
- Solid understanding of product safety standards and third-party certification processes
- Proven program management skills — able to own certification timelines, manage budgets, track multi-project status, and communicate clearly to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence at all levels and translate complex technical compliance matters into clear, compelling narratives
- Highly analytical and organized, with a track record of managing competing priorities across multiple programs
- Working knowledge of product configuration management practices (BOMs, ECR/ECO/MCO, rules of interchangeability)
- Experience with carrier certifications is preferred (e.g., Verizon, AT&T, US Cellular, Z-Wave, ZigBee, Telstra)
- Mandarin speaking a plus

Arlo offers a competitive compensation package, including base salary within the range of $145,000 to $165,000 USD per year in the United States and $110,000 to $125,000 CAD per year in Canada, plus equity. Pay
The pay range for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries at commencement of employment. In the United States, the expected range is $145,000 to $165,000 USD per year, and in Canada, $110,000 to $125,000 CAD per year, plus equity. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including location, role, job-related knowledge, skills, relevant education, and experience.
Schedule
The Senior Regulatory Compliance Engineer will work a standard 40-hour week, with occasional travel required for international engagements.
