Senior Technical Project Manager

Duties / Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale or high-impact projects from a technical perspective
• Define project scope, goals, deliverables, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders
• Develop and manage detailed technical project plans, resource allocation, and performance tracking metrics
• Proactively identify technical risks, issues, and dependencies, and develop mitigation strategies
• Communicate project progress, issues, and results to senior leadership, stakeholders, and customers
• Manage and motivate project team members, fostering collaboration and accountability
• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures
• Communicate effectively with others within the department and other departments as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required
• Master’s degree or PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive technical project management experience, including leading large complex projects or multiple concurrent initiatives
• Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), transportation technology, or government infrastructure experience preferred
• Must have excellent computer skills, working knowledge of MS office. Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Experience with Microsoft Project is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills
• Maintain highest level of professionalism under pressure
• Able to work in high-paced environment and able to be flexible and handle multiple tasks
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Able to interact with customers and all levels of personnel in a professional manner
• Able to travel throughout Canada and the United States to support projects

Physical Conditions / Requirements

• No unusual physical requirements
• Nearly all work is done in a comfortable indoor facility
• Occasional – Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present
• Involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor
• Job frequently requires sitting and handling objects with hands
• Job occasionally requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 10 pounds
• Hearing requirements: Ability to hear people over the telephone and in person
• Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically

Pay

$120k - $140k per year, depending on experience
