About the role
New Relic is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large cross-functional programs supporting our strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have a senior-level understanding of cloud, engineering, software, and systems development lifecycles, with experience in Product-Led Growth (PLG) initiatives, measurement frameworks, and cross-team collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Drive technical projects from ideation to delivery, including managing complex project schedules, removing roadblocks, and ensuring smooth processes.
- Create and operationalize metrics and KPIs to track progress and resolve issues at a granular level.
- Operationalize processes to enhance organizational effectiveness in achieving business goals.
- Facilitate productive meetings ranging from small groups to large-scale events.
- Identify and handle top risks, aligning leadership on appropriate levels of risk for each project.
- Communicate effectively with various stakeholders and teams with differing priorities.
- Anticipate bottlenecks, escalate issues, and balance business needs with technical constraints.
- Drive programs with significant ambiguity and define clear strategies.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager or Engineering Manager.
- 6+ years in project and program management.
- 6+ years delivering products against plan in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary, distributed-responsibility, and often ambiguous environment.
- Understanding of cloud architecture, microservices, data pipelines, ML/rule-based models, and API integrations.
- Experience with data-driven decision-making, analyzing user funnels, churn metrics, and system performance logs.
- Familiarity with PLG concepts, experimentation, and metrics.
- Familiarity with monetization and billing platforms.
- Proven ability to integrate AI into existing workflows.
- Ability to anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and balance business needs with technical constraints.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience communicating with senior leadership.
- A good understanding of the New Relic platform and its capabilities.
- Prior experience with high-growth companies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Skills
- Experience with Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyzing user funnels, churn metrics, and system performance logs to prioritize engineering backlogs.
- Familiarity with PLG concepts, experimentation, and metrics.
- Familiarity with monetization and billing platforms.
- Proven ability to integrate AI into existing workflows.
- Can anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
- Can drive programs with a significant amount of ambiguity and facilitate definition and clarity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience communicating with senior leadership.
- A good understanding of the New Relic platform and its capabilities.
- Prior experience with high-growth companies.
