Job Description We are looking for a technical bridge-builder and builder-at-heart to serve as Senior Technical Program Manager for the Agentic AI Foundation. This high-impact role requires a rare blend of hands-on AI engineering technical acumen and expert open source program management. In this position, you will own the end-to-end lifecycle and onboarding of new open source projects, working groups, and Special Interest Groups (SIGs) across the agentic ecosystem -- ranging from core agent frameworks and model context protocol implementations to evaluation benchmarks and multi-agent orchestration layers. You will work directly alongside AAIF staff, Technical Committee members, project maintainers, and working group chairs to drive technical roadmaps, clear development bottlenecks, and accelerate project milestones and code deliverables. Key Responsibilities Project and Working Group Lifecycle -- Lead the onboarding, governance structure, incubation, lifecycle management, and graduation phases for new agentic AI open source projects and working groupsTechnical Milestone Acceleration -- Partner directly with Working Group and Project Chairs to define roadmap goals, track technical deliverables, remove blockers, and drive consistent velocity across code repositoriesHands-on Technical Facilitation -- Engage deeply with architecture discussions, API standardizations (e.g., tool-calling protocols, memory layers, multi-agent communication), and release managementCommunity and Ecosystem Growth -- Help recruit, engage, and retain developer contributors, enterprise adopters, special interest groups, and steering committee members across global time zones and organizational boundariesProcess and Tooling Alignment -- Deploy LF tools (such as LFX) to track contributor analytics, security compliance, project health, and PMO operations across all foundation initiatives Qualifications Technical Acumen and Building Experience Demonstrated experience building LLM-driven agents or multi-agent workflows (e.g., utilizing frameworks like LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, LlamaIndex, or custom tool-calling engines)Solid understanding of modern AI stacks, including context window optimization, Model Context Protocol (MCP), vector databases, agentic memory architectures, and evaluation frameworksComfortable reviewing technical proposals, architecture diagrams, APIs, and RFCs to bridge discussions between maintainers and steering committees Program Management and Execution Proven track record managing project lifecycles, working group charters, and governance frameworks in open source or multi-stakeholder technology environmentsAbility to turn high-level technical vision into actionable milestones, roadmaps, and delivery schedulesExperience leveraging metric platforms (e.g., GitHub insights, LFX, Jira) to measure project health, contributor velocity, and open pull requests Leadership and Influence Expertise in leading and building consensus among teams, companies, and community members who do not report to you directlyAbility to engage with VP/CTO-level stakeholders to convey project impact while remaining deeply connected to maintainers and individual contributorsDeep familiarity with trends, disruptions, and emerging standards across the generative AI and agentic software landscape Additional Information Salary $165,000 - $205,000 USD The Linux Foundation is an all-remote workforce that hires top-notch talent committed to our mission.
