About the Role

Remitly is a uniquely global company. Our Core Transfer Experience (CTX) powers every money transfer across 5,300+ corridors and spans four product domains: Home, Transfer Flow, Recipient & Payment, and Post-Submit. We're seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to lead a critical platform mandate: re-architecting our frontend-driven flow into a composable, server-driven platform that powers checkout across any surface, segment, and product line — including emerging surfaces like WhatsApp, ChatGPT, and voice.

In this role, you will facilitate credible technical conversations and reason about system integration across orchestration and remittance product services. You will drive the adoption of CTX best practices across a large organization of regional teams, aligning with core platform and infrastructure teams to ensure program success. This position requires a potent combination of technical depth, program leadership, strategic thinking, and exceptional stakeholder management. This is a hybrid role based in our Seattle, WA headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with engineering, science, product, and business stakeholders to drive complex initiatives from conception through launch.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to deliver results and solve complex architectural problems.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple concurrent programs spanning various cross-functional organizations.
  • Define strategic roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, and success metrics in collaboration with technical leaders.
  • Build alignment among senior leadership on technical approaches, resource investments, and trade-offs.
  • Coordinate complex cross-team efforts and proactively resolve blockers to accelerate delivery cycles.
  • Establish robust mechanisms for tracking program health, execution risks, and business outcomes.
  • Deliver results and make necessary trade-off decisions for timely execution of programs in collaboration with Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers.
  • Identify technical risks proactively and influence architectural considerations early in the development lifecycle.
  • Develop scalable program management processes and best practices to improve execution across the organization.
  • Communicate status, risks, and decisions effectively to stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
  • 5+ years of technical program management experience working directly with multiple software engineering teams.
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional programs, establishing processes, and coordinating complex release schedules.

Pay

The starting base salary range for this position is typically $152,000-$190,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.

Schedule

For corporate team members, we have an in-office expectation of at least 50% of the time monthly, typically achieved by coming in three days a week. This creates a consistent, meaningful overlap that supports team norms and business needs. Managers also have the flexibility to set higher expectations based on their team's specific needs.
