Senior Technical Product Manager

MGT Insurance · Madison, WI · 2 wk ago
HybridMarketing$180k–$275k/yrFull-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, build, and drive adoption of AI-native commercial insurance products, delivering tools that let us scale efficiently.
  • Translate traditional insurance workflows into agent systems.
  • Make crisp tradeoffs between model capability, build vs. rent decisions, and long term unit economics.
  • Deliver software with modern AI tooling, pull your own data, build prototypes, ship code.
  • Writing clarifies our thinking but working artifacts orient teams. When it's time to build you write code alongside the engineering team.
  • Set a high product bar. Work side by side with your internal and external customers to spot undervalued capabilities, kill weak features fast, and defend the experiences that matter.

Qualifications

  • Compelling storytelling skills. Product is becoming increasingly technical but the bedrock of the role are communication skills that drive teams forward.
  • Experience building AI systems. You've led a team that built an AI-enabled system beyond a simple chat bot and can speak fluently about successes and pitfalls taking it to market.
  • Strong technical literacy. You actively contribute to your team’s codebase, get your own data, and are equally comfortable whiteboarding systems or talking unit economics.
  • Growth stage experience. MGT is a small high accountability organization and that's a plus for you.
  • References from peer department managers (Engineering, GTM, etc.) that loved working with you.
  • Nice to have: A background in insurance, insuretech, or financial services. A passion for early-stage startups and/or high-growth experience. Amplitude, Mixpanel, LaunchDarkly, or equivalent instrumentation experience.

What We Test For

  • Live, open-ended product discussions. Walk us through what has worked (and what hasn’t) in your AI builds.
  • Hands-on evidence. Show us something you built (without violating employer confidences or NDAs). Walk us through the strategy, execution, and adoption.
  • Reference depth. We do thorough reference checks and weigh them heavily.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • A leadership role in shaping the future of a modern digital insurance platform.
  • A collaborative and forward-thinking work environment.

Pay

$180,000-$275,000 annual base salary + bonus + equity (commensurate with experience and dependent on location)
