SENIOR TECHNICAL PORDUCT MANAGER
About The Role
We're hiring a Senior Technical Product Manager to own and build on our core platforms: WordPress, Salesforce, SailThru, and Stripe. You'll sit at the intersection of editorial, ad sales, marketing, and engineering, turning platform capabilities and first-party audience data into measurable business outcomes across advertising, newsletter growth, and subscription products.
What You'll Do
- Support and develop our four core platforms — WordPress (CMS and site experience), Salesforce (CRM and ad sales workflow), SailThru (email and newsletter operations), and Stripe (payments and subscriptions) — handling day-to-day platform support, configuration, integrations, and enhancements.
- Execute against the Product Roadmap. Build integrations, automate workflows, configure platforms, and ship improvements yourself.
- Use AI as a core tool. Leverage Anthropic's Claude for development, debugging, documentation, data analysis, and workflow automation — and help establish AI-assisted development practices across the team.
- Connect the platforms: keep audience, subscriber, and revenue data flowing cleanly between WordPress, Salesforce, SailThru, and Stripe, and into our analytics and reporting.
- Partner with ad sales, marketing, and editorial to translate business needs into platform capabilities — from direct-sold campaign workflow in Salesforce to newsletter growth in SailThru to paywall and subscription products on Stripe.
- Lead our first-party data strategy across the stack, including consent management and privacy compliance (GDPR, CCPA, state-level US regulations).
- Make build-vs-buy calls on vendor tools and platform extensions; manage vendor relationships for our core platforms.
- Translate ambiguous business problems into clear requirements, prioritized roadmaps, and measurable success criteria — and communicate trade-offs, timelines, and outcomes to executive leadership.
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years of product management or technical platform experience, with hands-on ownership of at least two of: WordPress (VIP preferred), Salesforce, SailThru (or comparable ESP), Stripe.
- A builder's mindset. You're comfortable working in these platforms directly — admin configuration, API integrations, scripting, and automation — not just writing requirements for others.
- Experience using AI tools (Claude or similar) to accelerate development, analysis, and operations — or strong enthusiasm and aptitude for adopting them.
- Working knowledge of modern analytics platforms (GA4, Parse.ly, or similar) and comfort interrogating data — reading queries, pushing back on bad numbers.
- Track record of shipping complex, cross-platform projects: you can scope the work, hold your own in architecture conversations, and then go build a real piece of it.
- Experience with first-party data strategy and privacy/consent frameworks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication. You can move fluidly from a CTO conversation to a sales team standup to an editorial planning meeting.
- Bias toward action and comfort with ambiguity — media operates fast, and our priorities shift with the news cycle and the market.
Nice to Have
- Experience at a publisher, media company, or content-driven business.
- Experience with Commercial Real Estate is a big plus.
- Familiarity with subscription/paywall systems and audience monetization beyond advertising.
- PHP/WordPress development, Salesforce administration or Apex, SailThru templates/APIs, or Stripe Billing experience.
- SQL fluency.
- Experience working with editorial teams.
